A History of Caring
The Village was origignally founded by Danish Lutherans in 1907 as a children’s home but was gradually converted into a home for those in the last third of life.
Today, this cozy, comfortable housing community offers 39 individual housing units, primarily for persons over the age of 55.
Danebod Village is a nonprofit corporation, managed by a board of directors with members from the local area.
We offer housing without regard to race, religion or ethnicity.
OUR RESIDENTS SAY
This is such a nice place. I don’t understand why some people wait so long to move here.
Living here is good. Now when I talk, I have someone to look at!
My kids “made” me move here. It’s the best thing they have ever done for me.
I moved here before some people thought I should. I wanted to be responsible for where I went. I like making my own decisions.
